Table 3 held their first study meeting on . Let's all see what they did in order to prepare for the upcoming conference, reported by Hideyuki Mihara!
What did your table do during the recent study meeting?
In our table 3, we had our first offline study meeting with Japanese participants last weekend. It was my first time to meet other Japanese participants in person, because I could not join the advanced conference in May. They warmly welcomed me and I was relieved. In our table 3, we discuss “Freedom of Speech and its Restriction in Today’s World. In the study meeting, we discussed the history of freedom of speech and how governments handle the freedom of speech in modern society. I think we could deeply discuss and learn many things from each other’s presentations. Personally, I sometimes had difficulties in making myself understood in English. Therefore, I would like to improve my English skills until the main conference. After the study meeting, we ate pineapple ramen and then we went to Newspaper Museum in Yokohama. We could learn its history, restriction of press during the wartime, and so on from the exhibitions there. I think we could spend fulfilling time together.
Do you have any encouraging words for your table-mates as well as your fellow ISC participants?
We have only 2 months until the main conference and I’m looking forward to seeing all of you there. Even though the conference would be hard for us, I believe we can do it. Let’s make it successful and make unforgettable memories together!!
Thank you Hideyuki! Stay tuned for other updates on ISC65!
